Greetings Boss Mamas,
Every month I have a chance to try new self-care products, thanks to my subscription from Cocotique. Cocotique is a beauty box subscription that provides some of the best beauty and lifestyle products for women of color. I was particularly excited when my box arrived this month because of the product line Seed Phytonutrients. The most unique part of this brand is that it uses oil from seeds which is one of the main ingredients in their products. After the oil is extracting from the seeds, what is left is returned to farmers to have organic feed for their animals. Seed Phytonutrients is 95% natural, cruelty, paraben, sulfate, and gluten free, the products are also vegan with a natural fragrance. The most appealing part of the products is that they use eco-friendly compostable paper to make the bottles. I have been trying five products for about a week. I wanted to give an honest review on each product that I used from this line, so that it might help other mamas when shopping for self-care products.
Seed Phytonutrients Anti-Frizz Shampoo (8.5 fl.oz. for $18.00)
This shampoo is infused with jojoba seed oil to tame uncontrollable frizz. The texture is smooth and it felt so good on my hair. It provided a lot of slip to easily detangle my tight curls and coils which is always a plus for me. The smell is amazing, it reminds me of sandalwood and I still could smell it long after washing my hair with it. If you have frizzy prone hair and I would completely recommend this shampoo as it prevents hair disaster.
Seed Phytonutrients Anti-Frizz Conditioner ( 8.5 fl. Oz. for $18.00)
This anti-frizz conditioner is just as amazing as the shampoo, it, as well, is infused with jojoba oil which makes it smell so lovely. I normally use a lot of conditioner to support my coils and curls, however I used this once after I shampooed and once when co-washing and I still have a lot of product left. I noticed, after each use my hair is more manageable, soft and feels healthier. Just like the shampoo, I 100% recommend this for curly girls.
Seed Phytonutrients Anti-Frizz Smoothing Cream (2.5 fl. oz. for $19.00)

This cream is the absolute truth! It is infused with just about the same ingredients as its shampoo and conditioner counterparts but gives the hair just a little bit more love. The scent of this cream is orange flower and parsley aroma. This product completely tames my hair for aftershower care. The only con about this cream is that I wish there was more product in each tube, but other than that I love how my hair shines after each use.
Seed Phytonutrients Body Moisturizer (8.5 fl. oz. for $18.00)
This lotion has a smooth texture and soaks immediately into your skin, leaving it softer than ever. I am not a huge fan of the scent, but my daughter, Ysabel loves how it smells. She compares it to spearmint and bamboo. I compare it to wet wood, with a touch of musk. Even though I dislike the smell, this moisturizer does its job and provides hydration and moisture that your skin craves. I would definitely recommend this product for people who have drier skin and love muskier scents.
SeedPhytonutrients Gentle Facial Cleanser (8.5 fl. oz. for $28.00)
I must say, I am 100% satisfied with this facial cleanser. It’s rather difficult to find facial products because I have such sensitive skin. However, this gentle facial cleanser treats my skin, leaving it soft, radiant and clear after each wash. It has a light scent and washes my face clean without over drying. I will definitely be repurchasing this product in the future.
Overall, Seed Phytonutrients provides excellent, high quality products that will not disappoint. I also fully stand-by their mission to help farmers. These products are definitely a “treat yourself splurge” purchase as it is priced higher than drug store products, but the quality is not cheap and it will have you satisfied after each use. Mama, if you want to add high quality self-care products to your collection, treat yourself with Seed Phytonutrients.
