Tips and Tricks To A Smoother Shave

I have heard numerous stories about shaving horrors. I have even experienced shaving horrors myself, such as razor bumps, nicks, cuts and strawberry legs. For years I have tried to master the perfect shave. Finally, after several trials and errors, I discovered the perfect routine, that I am excited to share with all my boss mamas.

Here is my routine that has worked for me every time and maybe it will work for you:

Step 1: Find a body scrub

A body scrub before you shave can offer amazing results. Using a body scrub on the part of the body you want to shave not only makes your skin soft but can eliminate dead skin cells and provide moisture to the skin which is quite important before you shave. You never want to shave on dry cracked skin.

Step 2. The thicker the shaving foam, the better the shave.

You don’t have to spend all of your coins on these expensive shaving creams because honestly the quality is the same in some of the cheaper ones as well. I use the .99 cent Target brand Smells Like Summertime . It’s thick and covers the area that I want to shave completely plus it smells amazing. Most importantly it does it’s job.

Step 3. No less than five razor blades does the trick.

Honestly the brand is a preference, but please don’t go below five blades, your skin will thank you later. I prefer the Flamingo razor. It’s five blades and it offers a very close shave, plus I love the color selection but honestly any razor brand will do as long as it’s five blades.

Step 4. Double up on the body scrub. After shaving I always scrub the parts that I shave again. Why you may ask? It makes your skin feel ten times more soft, smooth and touchable. What mama wouldn’t want that combination. Currently, I am loving the Beloved body scrubs from Love, Beauty and Planet. Those scrubs completely changed my shaving game, it smells amazing and comes with a lot of product to cover the whole body without missing spots

Step 5. Oil it up. Honestly, after each shower I use body oil to lock in the moisture but especially after I shave, it makes the skin glow and shine.

At the end of this routine, your legs , underarms or wherever you have to shave will feel and look the best that it has ever been.
