Have you ever been so overwhelmed and stressed out that you just sat and stared off into space, raising your blood pressure and becoming even more anxious and ultimately ending up with a painful headache? Well, I have and let me tell you, worry and stress doesn’t help any situation whatsoever. In fact, worry and excessive amounts of stress cause more harm to your health than resolving a current problem. It has been proven that stress is the leading cause of death, it is the number one proxy killer disease to date. So why worry yourself to death? Finding ways to destress is so crucial for not only your mental health but physically as well. Breathe. Practicing breathing is a great way to destress. Being mindful and staying in the present is also another effective way to let go of worry. This is where a good dose of self-care can be effective when you are have fits of stress. Take a nice hot bath,give yourself a manicure or a pedicure, heck ,give yourself both. I know one effective way to destress for me would be to take a long shower with my favorite products. Another effective way is practicing yoga and being mindful about your practice, which means being intentional about your breaths and movements. I have learned if you can’t change it don’t worry about it. Your mental and physical health are depending on you to stress less. Mamas, everything will be alright. When life seems to be harder, it actually becomes easier because we are stronger from it. Show stress who is boss and do it less!
