Current Playlist Recommendation

I thought I would share my top 3 songs on my playlist and highlight what I love about each song. Power by Billie Eilish. I am quite the fan of Billie anyway so I pretty much enjoy all of her music, but this particular song really spoke to me. The vulnerability of this song not only touched me but I was really able to relate. Eilish described the meaning of the song as men dating younger women and abusing their power towards them, which is unfortunately a common trend in society and definitely needs to be addressed. Happen To Me by Benee, is a melodic relatable song as well. It talks about her living with depression and anxiety and how it forms in different ways. This is a song I can reflect on because I battle with anxiety and depression and I completely understand how she feels. Benee is a whole vibe and people are sleeping on her. My last recommendation is actually an artist that my sister recommended to me when I really needed it, Japanese Breakfast. Jubilee is one of their recent albums and I automatically fell in love with every lyric. It’s what my soul has been craving to satiate it. The album Jubilee speaks about grief which hits close to home considering my dad passed away last year, that in itself, has been one of the hardest situations that I had to deal with, this album brought comfort and deep contemplation that I have needed and thankful that I have found. One particular song that really made an impression on me is Paprika. It has such a nostalgic and tranquil tone. Michelle Zauner, lead singer of Japanese Breakfast, has discussed the meaning behind this song and that is simply celebrating the beauty of music. Considering I am an avid lover of music, this song was the perfect fit for me.

Those were my top three favorite songs on my playlist. I encourage you to listen to these songs and see if you enjoy them how I do. Now that I shared a few of my favorite songs, what are some songs that resonate with you?
